Terms of Use

Effective date: August 21, 2026 · Version 1.0
Important: Power Bots is an independent software service. Alpaca is not affiliated with, does not endorse, and is not responsible for Power Bots. Live connectivity is unavailable unless separately approved by Alpaca and enabled by Power Bots.

1. Agreement

These Terms govern your use of the Power Bots website, software, strategy configurations, evidence materials, hosted runtimes, and related services (the “Service”). By creating an account, purchasing access, connecting a brokerage account, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility and account ownership

You must be at least 18, legally able to enter this agreement, and permitted to use the Service where you live. You remain the owner of, and responsible for, your brokerage account, investment decisions, orders, confirmations, statements, tax obligations, and compliance with your broker agreement.

3. Software access is separate from brokerage authorization

A purchase grants only the limited software access described at checkout. It does not connect a broker, start a runtime, submit an order, create custody, or authorize transfers. Brokerage connectivity requires a separate, affirmative authorization through the broker’s approved connection flow. Runtime activation is a separate reviewed step.

Power Bots does not accept customer funds, hold customer securities, initiate cash transfers or withdrawals, or request broker passwords, multi-factor codes, raw API keys, seed phrases, or withdrawal credentials.

4. Alpaca connection

If you connect an Alpaca account, you authenticate directly with Alpaca and select the account and permissions shown on Alpaca’s consent screen. Power Bots requests only the scopes needed for an enabled feature and defaults to the paper environment during onboarding. You may disconnect Power Bots and should also revoke the application through Alpaca when you no longer use the Service.

An authorization containing trading scope permits software to place, replace, or cancel orders only after the relevant runtime is separately activated. It does not authorize Power Bots to withdraw assets or transfer cash.

5. Automated-trading risk

Trading involves substantial risk and you may lose all or more than the amount committed to a position. Automated systems can malfunction or behave unexpectedly because of defects, configuration mistakes, connectivity failures, stale or incorrect market data, delayed or duplicate messages, volatility, market gaps, liquidity constraints, partial fills, rejected orders, outages, or changing broker and exchange rules. Risk controls and stop orders may fail or execute at unfavorable prices.

Options are complex and may be unsuitable for many investors. You are responsible for understanding the instruments, approving strategy settings, selecting account limits, and continuously monitoring your broker account.

6. Evidence and hypothetical results

Paper, backtested, replayed, hypothetical, legacy, and simulated performance does not represent live customer performance and does not guarantee future results. Evidence labels describe the source and verification state; they are not warranties. Historical size controls are mechanical scenarios that retain the same trades and dates. They do not model market capacity, contract granularity, slippage, fees, queue position, changed sequencing, or future returns.

7. No individualized advice

Unless you enter a separate written agreement expressly stating otherwise, the Service provides software, research context, and user-selected automation—not individualized legal, tax, accounting, or investment advice. It does not consider your personal objectives, finances, experience, risk tolerance, or suitability. Consult qualified professionals where appropriate.

8. Your responsibilities

  • Review the evidence basis, configuration, permissions, and risk controls before activation.
  • Use paper trading until you understand the strategy’s behavior and failure modes.
  • Set appropriate position, order-size, buying-power, and daily-loss limits.
  • Monitor orders and account activity directly with your broker.
  • Keep your Power Bots and broker accounts secure and report suspected unauthorized activity promptly.
  • Use the Service only in compliance with law, broker terms, market rules, and these Terms.

9. Fees, renewal, cancellation, and refunds

The checkout page identifies the applicable product, price, billing period, renewal terms, cancellation method, and refund policy before payment. You authorize the payment processor to charge the displayed amount. Broker commissions, regulatory fees, market-data fees, taxes, and trading losses remain your responsibility. Disconnecting a broker does not automatically cancel a paid subscription; cancelling payment access does not automatically revoke a broker authorization.

10. Security and privacy

Power Bots uses administrative and technical controls intended to protect information, including authenticated access, encrypted transport, encrypted broker tokens, scoped service access, and security logging. No internet-connected system is risk-free. Collection, use, retention, and deletion practices are described in the Privacy Notice.

11. Acceptable use and intellectual property

The Service and its software, strategy logic, documentation, trademarks, and original materials are owned by Power Bots or its licensors. Subject to payment and these Terms, you receive a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable right to use the purchased Service. You may not resell, sublicense, copy, reverse engineer, bypass safeguards, interfere with the Service, misuse market data, violate market rules, or use the Service unlawfully.

12. Availability, suspension, and changes

Power Bots may pause or restrict access when reasonably necessary for security, compliance, maintenance, broker requirements, evidence-quality concerns, or risk management. Strategies may be retired or returned to research status when evidence deteriorates. We may update the Service and these Terms; material changes will receive notice where required.

13. Disclaimers and liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” Power Bots does not warrant uninterrupted operation, successful execution, compatibility with every broker account, accuracy of third-party data, profitable performance, or fitness for a particular purpose. Mandatory consumer rights and liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded remain unaffected.

14. Contact and operator information

Legal operator name, mailing address, support address, governing law, and any dispute-resolution terms are presented in the Alpaca application record and the checkout disclosure applicable to your purchase. Those production details must be published here before paid public access opens.
